Multi-Textured, True to the spirit of Mr. Dylan, and Beautiful
Wow.
Pat Guadagno has put together a group of top-notch Jersey Shore musicians for this sold-out event at the Count Basie in Red Bank (site of several fellow world-class events, such as Springsteen's Unplugged recording). His version of "It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding"), alone, is worth the cost, as it showcases his masterful guitar and voice talents. Few artists of any amount of fame do this one justice, but Pat does it right. Rich Oddo's nasty wah-wah on "God Gave Names To All The Animals" ushers the song into a whole new genre, and Steve Delopolous's clear and honest reading of "Every Grain of Sand" make this little-known Dylan tune worthy of dusting off. The whole album just makes you want to be there next time.
Pat has done a world-class job in the studio with this one, mastering all tunes right in Jersey so that you feel like you're in the best seats in this world-class venue. Buy this one now, and buy a copy for anyone you love. It's not often that one gets the chance to own this kind of music. Well done!

Pat Guadagno’s masterful guitar work and moving vocal covers of just about the full range of the contemporary folk
and rock songbooks Guadagno’s second release is a double CD set, “That’s a Bob Dylan song, Bob-Fest ‘09.” For more than ten years Guadagno has put together a reverential concert of Bob Dylan songs to celebrate Dylan’s birthday.
Thirty-one songs recorded live in May at the Dylan tribute at the Two River Theater in Red Bank are included. Guadagno and his band, Tired Horses, bring the full range of Dylan’s genius to the stage. Before listening, I thought why would anyone listen to a cover of Dylan when they could listen to a recording of the real thing? Now I know. This is a beautiful album. The recording is clean, among the best live albums I have heard.
