Album Review

Uncle Luke and company have made a career out of Miami bass/electro that's as raw, funky, and unforgivingly sexually explicit as humanly possible. This collection takes the highlights from four of their earliest and most controversial records and puts them together for a very convenient and near-accurate survey of their classic and most recognizable hits. Completists will note the glaring absence of such 2 Live staples as "Do Wah Diddy," "One and One," and "Banned in the USA," but this shouldn't deter anyone other than the cult followers. This is still by far the most comprehensive collection of their work on the market, and is the ideal place to start filling freaky needs.

This is funny old school rap. That's just what it is. I really wrote this review to make fun of other people though. like the crazy feminist who thinks that these people want to rape you. Or the kid who doesn't like to think about sex. Mostly that kid because he is probably in the sixth grade and his mommy needs to put some filters on his computer. Not because he doesn't like sex, I don't discriminate against (asexuals?) but because he really has no idea what he is talking about, and he misspelled a sexual slur. kind of ironic

I bought throw the d and the sound was edited. I'm pretty sure that's a parental advisory sticker on the album cover and it says explict. I don't know if it's just a freak accident but I'm pissed off with itunes and needed to vent.

No rap group (save, perhaps, N.W.A) has stirred more controversy or provoked more heated debate than the 2 Live Crew. The furor over the graphic sexual content of their X-rated party rhymes — specifically their 1989 album As Nasty as They Wanna Be — was a major catalyst in making rap music...
