Customer Reviews

underappreciated and amazing

I consider Angie Aparo one of the most amazing and underappreciated artists of the late 20th and early 21st century. His work on "The American" is actually timeless. No lie. If an album you bought way back in 2000 is still relevant and in heavy rotation in your collection today, it not only has worth, but it is timeless. A lot can change in eight years - something as insignificant as a CD you purchased way eight or nine years ago probably won't resonate with you today - unless that work is exceptional. Angie's work is just that if not more. If you are ever looking for a new artist to round out your collection, Angie Aparo is probably one of the 10 best artists to fill up your iPod. And if you think "The American" is good. Just see him live. His live shows are something to remember forever.

One of My Favorites of All Time

Angie is one of the best artists I have ever seen live and "The American" is one of my favorite CDs. From Spaceship and Gravity to Beautiful and The American, this CD is just incredible. His other CDs (Praise Be, For Stars and Moon) are also great.

Utterly brilliant

For several years, this has been one of those albums that I have kept in constant rotation. Angie Aparo has one of those voices that can either reduce you to tears or make you feel like everything's going to be all right. Sometimes during the same song. Many of us are familiar with Faith Hill's excellent cover of Angie's "Cry," but the original version, available here should have been an equally big hit, along with songs like "Hush," "Wonderland, "and "Memphis City Rain." I am so glad to see this on iTunes!
