Mixing riot grrrl grit with Ke$ha-style danceability, Vanity Theft deliver cocky, confident pop/rock on Anatomy. The Dayton, Ohio-based quintet gains rhythmic punch from the addition of ex-Lizzy McGuire star Lalaine Paras on bass. She joins forces with singer/keyboardist Alicia Grodecki, guitarist Brittany Hill and drummer Elyse Driskill to offer a short (four new songs plus two remixes) but smoldering EP. Vanity Theft goes for the jugular with real ferocity on “Limb from Limb” and wrap themselves in thick cloaks of ‘80s mood on “Excavation.” “Missing Teeth” finds them embracing obsessive romantic balladry, accented by quavering beats and chiming guitar. Most ear grabbing of all is the title tune, an attitude-drenched dance floor workout. “I don’t want you for your mi-i-i-ind,” sings Grodecki with a delicious combination of come-on and put-down in her voice. (Don’t miss “Anatomy’s” Houses Haunted Tape Remix for extra electronic intoxication.) On Anatomy, Vanity Theft aims for the vitals with a steel-toed kick and make a very favorable impression.

Awesome!
This EP is a great combination of intricate but melodic music combined with cleaver and witty lyrics. This is also a big step forward, from a production and quality level. I love having the mixes in there as well. Totally worth it!
Amazing
4 talented, beautiful girls + amazing music=Vanity Theft. This is not your typical all girl rock band. They are incredible. Buy this CD if you like toe-tapping good music. Did I mention they are hot.
