iTunes Review
Unwilling to go out with a whimper, Rage Against the Machine treated their final album (Renegades is a posthumous collection of cover songs) like Custer's Last Stand — with guitars blazing instead of guns and a headstrong Zach de la Rocha leading the charge as if it might be his last, from the lawnmower lashings of "Testify" to the claustrophobic and caustic closer "War Within a Breath." In many ways it was, as the rap-metal pioneer retreated into the shadows to work on a secretive solo project that still hasn't come out. As for the rest of Rage, they managed to crank out three Audioslave albums with Chris Cornell before rejoining de la Rocha at Coachella and reminding more than 30,000 people just why they were once the most relevant (and to some degree, dangerous) band in modern rock. Oh, you weren't there? No matter; one listen to The Battle of Los Angeles will have the same 'wow, these guys were awesome!' effect. In fact, don't blame us if "Calm Like a Bomb" makes you spontaneously combust or "Sleep Now in the Fire" sparks a street sign-smashing spree. Just remember these five words: "Morello made me do it."

What This Album's Good For...
In your future, should you ever be standing atop a 12,000 foot summit with only blue skies above and a sheer, nasty, cliff-face looming below your wobbly legs strapped to Salomon Rocker skis, all-the-while your friends, who in an attempt to impress the ogling ladies sipping their warm lattes at the mountain base below, jumped headfirst over the edge without the slightest hint of knowing that they call this drop the 'Death For Sure' plummet for what now some would agree to be obvious reasons, don't do what we all know you're cable of doing. That is, vomit up sausage-based gumbo, cry out loud for mama, or poop out a runny mess down your britches. No, don't do it. Instead, I’ve got one word for you…RAGE. Strap on your Ipod and fire up "Calm Like A Bomb"!!! If your eardrums don’t explode in a gooey mess, then you s.u.c.k.. I assure you, that cliff will be like stepping over a curb. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, will have your blood pumping once the riff kicks in. Well, Filter's "Nice Shot Man" is a pretty damn close match, but you get the point. This album KICKS IT like very few others ever have or ever will. I swear you'll look like a damned idiot listening to this album because your head will practically spasm right off your shoulders. Get it, you won't be disappointed. A solid 5-Star ratings proves it.
Another Rage Classic
In my opinion, Rage Against the Machine and Tool are the only two bands that don't make a bad song. When you buy a Rage album there is no filler. Rage continues to evolve as musicians on the last studio album they released. The best tracks are not the most popular. My favorites are "Ashes in the Fall, Mic Check, New Millenium Homes, and Born of a Broken Man. Rage is one of those bands where you feel like the musician's soul is on the page for everyone to see and that to me is what makes the most moving music that lasts over generations. 20 Years from now they will still be relevant. Please guys, just make one more album.
This is a great album!
Exellent ! This has got to be Rage Against the Machine's best album. The best tracks in my opinion are: Testify, Guerrilla Radio, Mic Check, Sleep Now in the Fire, Born of a Broken Man, Voice of the Voiceless and War Within a Breath. If you look at Rage Against the Machine, you will notice that they are not just some band, they are one of the best bands that you will ever hear. Now, what really sets R.A.T.M. apart from the rest is: Okay, you've got Zach De La Rocha rapping and screaming his political views and powerful protests. you've also got Tom Morello, shredding on his guitar relentlessly behind De La Rocha. Also you have Tim Commerford Grooving on the bass, adding the backdrop to this insane sound that Morello and De La Rocha have going on. and then you've got Brad Wilk wailing on the drums giving this sound a beat to give you the Bomb that is Rage Against the Machine. "I can make a guitar sound like a video game, but I can't make a video game sound like a guitar." - Tom Morello, January 25th, 2008 Best. Quote. Ever.
