Piggies, Weeping Guitars and Warm Guns - Brilliant Fairy Tales for Our Times

"The White Album" is a collection of fractured fairy tales. You've got dancing Piggies, troubled Blackbirds, the villainous Sexy Sadie, the tragic Rocky Racoon, the melancholy Prudence and Martha, Desmond and Molly, kings and queens, weeping guitars, warm guns and the continuing adventures of Bungalow Bill. It's all a twisted commentary on (and celebration of) the warping of Western culture by sex, power, religion, money, war, secrets, love, lack of love, and all things natural and unnatural... starting with the once-upon-a-time, flipped perspective of "Born in the USSR" and ending with the sarcastic lullabye "Good Night." The album, delivered as rock, folk and blues, aims particularly at America... the birthplace of rock, folk and blues, and likely the birthplace of the stories we are about to hear. It's a long, strange ride, and it's the Beatles' best album. Enjoy it.

It's good to see the boys in here finally :)

Anyone who knows the Beatles knows this album. No review necessary except for saying thanks for getting it on here :)

Moreover, they were among the few artists of any discipline that...
