ODDITY!!!

Oddity freakin rocks and so does the whole collection of Coal Chamber's best songs! also get the songs Sway, Clock, Not Living, Tyler's Song, El Cu Cuy, and one of my other favorites....LOCO!

One of the best bands to see in concert

I have to say it's sad that Coal Chamber is no longer together because their music was really good. Each album sounded different from each other. You had your metal mid to late 90's sound that was raw, full of energy and potential. They were amazing to see at Ozzfest 97. Then you have Chamber Music which follows up with the hard rock and metal with some more melodic music than expected. Finally you have Dark Days which I felt was the culmination for this band as it was aggressive and in your face. While bands like Slipknot softened up with each album, Coal Chamber actually got more aggressive and matured into a band that could have been huge and successful for years. Unfortunately they came out when "nu-metal" was created and were thrown into that category when they were not even close to it. And while Devildriver is good and I do enjoy the music, this is where Dez really shined. Don't buy this album...buy the actually albums because there are a lot of great songs missing from this collection.

YES!! I'm Back In 11th Grade Again!!

I was so happy to find out that there was a collection of Coal Chamber tunes available! I used to rock the Coal Chamber shirt with my ADIDAS sweatpants all the time in high school. Hah hah, I can't believe I used to dress like that now!! The best songs on here are the first six tracks. They are from their first album. Their second CD didn't have that many good tunes but there were a couple highlights. I never heard their third because I got pissed when I found out about the line up changes and never gave it a chance. If you are into old school KORN or Manson, this might be up your alley. Just don't expect a reunion tour anytime soon. I think one or two of these guys might have died of heroin overdoses by now...

Biography

Formed: 1997

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s, '00s

Coal Chamber broke out of the Los Angeles alternative metal scene in 1997 with a sound often compared to Korn, although both bands formed around the same time and are quality representations of the scene's overall sound — the heavy, detuned guitars of the murkiest Black Sabbath, grungy, noisy textures reminiscent of White Zombie or Tool, the white-knuckle intensity of Pantera and hardcore punk, and perhaps a few hip-hop-influenced beats á la Biohazard. Coal Chamber was formed in 1994 by vocalist/lyricist...
