iTunes Review
Like the narrator of “The Bible and the Belt,” a paean to Southern-style child rearing, American Idol contestant Bucky Covington is the product of two opposing worlds: hard rock and modern country. He can muster an Axl Rose-worthy rasp (“Ain’t No Thing”) or a gentle, honeyed croon (“I’ll Walk”) depending on what his material demands. Produced by Mark Miller of Sawyer Brown (the country hitmakers whose career also began on another TV talent show, Star Search), Bucky Covington resounds with the confidence of someone who has found his niche. A native of Rockingham, North Carolina, Covington’s small town roots run throughout his debut record. From the thrill of a football game (“Friday Night Lights”) to walks on the train tracks with church bells in the distance (“Hometown”), the atmosphere of small-town America is all over Bucky Covington. Even as his hard rock grit pushes classic country into a modern setting, the album frequently finds the thirty-year-old singer longing for a simpler, bygone vision of America. A place where, as he sings in “A Different World,” there was “No video games and no satellite / All we had were friends and they were outside,” and people didn’t drink “bottled water, we drank from a garden hose / And every Sunday, all the stores were closed.”

Awesome!!
Wow!! I had no idea how great this CD would be. Bucky was a favorite of mine on the Idol, and I only love him more now. The guy is awesome!!
American Friday Night: 9/10- This song is great. Very up-tempo, and very BUCKY. Deffinatley one of my favorites on the CD
A Different World: 10/10- To this day, it is still my favorite song. I was suprised to see Bucky do a song like this, when last year on Idol he did mostly rock country. I also loved the video. But the minute I heard this song, I loved it.
I'll Walk- 10/10- Okay, it is impossible to listen to this song and not cry! It was great to see a senstive side of Bucky. The song is amazing. This song was probably why I was so excited to get the CD. I definatly encourage people to download this one.
Back When We Were Gods-10/10 GREAT SONG!!!!!!! I can't get this song out of my head!!! It's soo good!!
Ain't No Thing-8/10- This song is also very good. I didn't like it the first time I heard it, but now that I have heard more, I really like it. Great tune.
I'm Good-10/10- Now this is the Bucky I remember from American Idol!!! When he sang it at teh Grand Ole Opry I knew I loved it. It's awesome, and SO Bucky!!!
Empty Handed-7/10- Another good song. Also, pretty much the same thing he did on Idol. This song is good. Not my fav, but it will still get you dancing.
Hometown- 10/10 Glad to see Bucky writing a song like this. I love it. I've been playing it over and over. His voice sounds so good when he is doing those low notes.
It's Good To Be Us- 10/10- I LOVE THIS SONG!!! I bet for whoever buys this CD, this will be one of their favs on the whole thing. It's VERY good!!
Carolina Blue: 9/10- I also really enjoy this song. I like the tune of the song, and I also like the bridge. Very good song.
The Bible and the Belt- 9/10- This pretty sums up anybody who lives in the South. Love this song!

Bucky is here !!!
When he was on AI i did not like Bucky at all. Then i heard the song diffrent world and i loved it, and i had no idea who sang it. Then i found out it was him and it changed my mind completly about him. This album is one of the strongest cd musicly that came from season 5 of american idol. It only falls short of Daughtry. Give it a chance i promse that you will fall in love like i did!!!!!!!~!!!!!!~!~~~~!!!!!!
I am amazingly impressed!
Ok so I am an American Idol fan. Bucky was ok on the show. I never thought he was bad. I just did not think he was the American Idol. However, this album is amazing. He sounds WONDERFUL. If you like country music you are for sure going to like this album. He voice sounds deep and clear. I even think that his voice has different sounds. He sounds like someone who will be a big star in no time. Good JOB Bucky Covington. Money well spent I think.
