Surprisingly Great

I've always liked power metal to a certain extent, but this actually is great music. This beats any other power metal band by a long shot. The first song, March of Mephisto starts out sounding like part of an epic movie soundtrack and develops into a strangely exotic (a strange backing vocal flourish is present on parts of the verses) prog/power metal epic. This band started out like any other power metal band, but they've gotten immensely better, and this release certainly shows that. They're onto something great here, and it seems like they are continuing on the sound they have developed on this release with Ghost Opera, from what I've heard from that album. March of Mephisto, When the Lights Are Down, The Haunting, Moonlight, The Black Halo, and Memento Mori are some standout tracks. Higly recomended if you have the composition for something this epic.

Imagine Queensryche grew a pair and you wind up with Kamelot

I am new to Kamelot but have been a huge Dream Theater fan since Ytse Jam 21 years ago - Man, I'm old! I just bought the new DT Systematic Chaos album on iTunes and stumbled across Kamelot in the "Listener's Also Bought" section. Seems alot of people want to compare Kamelot to DT. I wouldn't compare the two. There's only one DT. That said, Kamelot is still lights out! Nowhere near as progressive as Mike Portnoy and the boys of DT but still killer epic metal. Sounds like Queensryche with b@lls. I really like the vocals. This dude can SING! I also really like the driving double bass and soaring keyboards. The rhythm sections of the guitar just makes me want to kick my own teeth in (in a good way). I'm off to buy more Kamelot tunes here on iTunes!!!

Well it's about time

This is without a doubt Kamelot's best album to yet, and one of my favorite albums of all time. I'm so glad iTunes FINALLY got this masterpiece. This is a kind of album that takes time to really appreciate all of the songs, but once you, listening to the entire CD because a daily event. I would try to pick out the best songs, but the fact is that they are all equally amazing. Khan has never been better. Youngblood has never sounded better. Buy this album. Five out of five for a perfect power-metal CD.
