Let's get right to the point here: My Chemical Romance's third studio album is much more than a major creative leap for the black, red and mascara-tinged heroes of the beaten, the broken and the New Jersey-bred. It's also one of the most immediately accessible, jugular-draining concept albums in years. That's because it overshadows any hint of pretension with pop pleasantries of a glam, classic rock and operatic nature, even as singer Gerard Way funnels his finest storytelling skills into a gleefully morbid tale of cancer and chemo, final words and flatlines. In simple terms, The Black Parade is the Sgt. Peppers' of the Tim Burton/Warped Tour generation, from its carefully plotted story arc to sleeve art with skeletons posing as a militaristic marching band. In more debatable words, it's easily the best Top 40 rock record you'll hear this year––self-conscious to a shameless degree and a tasteful tribute to the Queen's and the Bowie's it "borrows" from in scope and sound.

A Rock Masterpiece

The Black Parade is without a doubt MCR's best album to date. The record is an epic telling the story of the patient who dies young. The patient then meets up with the Black Parade, which is his death, and each song adds more to his story. Every song is unique and none say the same thing. The lyrics themselves are astounding and the background music and lyrics complement one another. The choice song is Mama which features Liza Minelli doing vocals in the song, which is a good song is you like something fast and agressive. If you want to try something slow from this record, try Disenchanted.

I bought mostly the explicit songs since it took forever for this clean version to come out. I just discovered it today. By reading the other reviews, apparently Teenagers isn't totally edited. All of these songs are great, but I like: 1. Famous Last Words-Who couldn't like this song??? Perfect ending to the album. 2. House of Wolves-A different sort of style, but such an awesome song. 3. Dead!-Great song, one of the quicker ones. 4. Disenchanted-A slower song, really good. Anyways, I think this CD is awesome. It's great that there's now a clean edition so if your parents don't want you to listen to explicit music you can still get it!!! Awesome.

YES!!!! Finally...

I was really excited when MCR came out with "The Black Parade" but the big red EXPLICIT kind of made second guess buying the album. Now that there is a CLEAN LYRICS version is out I'm gonna buy it for sure. The lyrics to all of the songs have a lot of meaning to them. It is an album worth the money.
