Bleu is a power pop savior.
This album is worth the price of admission alone for 'Freak Me Out'. This track is the perfect combination of Joe Jackson, ELO, and Fountains of Wayne, with a dash of melancholy. It's anthemic, upbeat, and gorgeous. As if Bleu's songwriting wasn't excellent enough, his vastly emotive, widely ranged vocals keep you engaged and wanting more. This collection is a fantastic expansion from his amazing CD, Redhead. I can't wait to see what's next from this guy. He never fails to impress. Thanks and kudos, Mr. McAuley, for another magnificent collection of tunes. Dont ever stop.
BLEU's 'Blizzard' was worth the wait !!
Recorded in a marathon session during a New England blizzard 4 years ago, Blizzard of '05 is a dynamite follow-up to 2003's 'Redhead". These 7 tunes capture the raw, yet refined energy and talent of the post-Redhead live band that he played with until L.E.O's "alpacas orgling" was released earlier this year. The songs are REALLY well written, and this collection flows nicely as an album. Once again, Bleu sets high standards for everyone in the Alt/Power-Pop industry, while delivering the goods to his loyal fan base, which seems to be ever-expanding. Recommended listening: All tracks!!
Why is this guy not HUGE?
This guy's a great songwriter. Check out his latest collaborative effort "The Major Labels". Cool album as well. If you like JellyFish, this is very similar stuff. Hey Bleu- you and Andy Sturmer need to do an entire DOUBLE ALBUM together!!
