Album Review

The Blue Room EP is Coldplay's first release for Parlophone. The limited-edition five-track piece is well-crafted with lush harmonies and Martin's harking vocals reflect common dream pop melodies similar to Gene frontman Martin Rossiter. "Such a Rush" is outstanding.

This lovely little collection is DEFINITELY worth the buy. The “Don’t Panic” track on this EP is actually the original, slower, more ambient version of the song that wasn’t released on any other album, and “See You Soon” is a wonderful little acoustic track also exclusive to the EP, save for a live version on the Live 2003 album.

“Such a Rush” and “Bigger, Stronger” are re-releases from the Safety EP, which iTunes DOES NOT have, and are two of the first songs Coldplay ever recorded, with a very somber sound and feel. I RECOMMEND THEM ESPECIALLY.

“High Speed” was originally recorded for this, but was carried over to the Parachutes album, so it may not be worth the buy if you already have the album…

A great to-the-point EP that is an audible treat and a must have for any die-hard Coldplay fan.

Amazing

Coldplay is so talented!! This is one of my favorite eps too.

Brilliant!

This show how amazing Coldplay was from the start! This is my favourite EP from them.

The group's emergence was perfectly timed; Radiohead had just released the overly cerebral Kid A, while Oasis had ditched two founding members and embraced psychedelic experimentation on Standing on the Shoulder of Giants....
