One-Man Band of the Future
An a*s-shaking, heart-rending maelstrom of New Wave, Neo Pop, and Blue-eyed Nu Soul! Two thumbs up.
get lucky, feel funky and take it downright smooth
I was stunned at the remarkable depth and and sophistication the Lucky Cat shows on this initial solo effort. The work is an awesome departure from his old band Prankstar. Its tough for me to say this sounds like anything but an amalgamation of the good funky modern stuff from which dreams are made. However, that won't stop me from trying! The influences vary widely to my ear, and from song to song, from George Michael (we're in the machine), to Lenny Kravitz (can't feel your love), to Tom Waits (the saddest halftime show), to Duran Duran (Start Again), to that band that sings "hey yah" and maybe the black-eyed peas (get up and go), to Hall and Oates (one night), to Sly Stone married to Kelly Clarkson with a nice hook and a wink and a lick and a promise (The Sun is Gonna Shine). POP ROCK FUNKIN UP! I love it! BUY NOW!
Sexy, catchy music
This is a real find -- there's variety while feeling cohesive, and the vocals and the beats are sensual and fun. Love it!
