New Music from Old Europe
Sample Rate recorded its first album in English entitled "The Breath" in late 2009. All the tracks were composed by the band's lead, Taras Terletsky (guitar/vocal), and members Vitaly Lityagin (keyboard) and Pavlo Ilnytskyy (guitar).
Sample Rate's music contains a certain charm and refreshing sophistication. Several tracks are devoted to the environment, namely "Rescue My Life," "Overloaded," and "Beat of Heart." In a recent interview, Taras who is lawyer by education, described the final track as follows. "As a society we have become consumed by the clock and getting ahead and forgotten how to look after one another. We have forgotten how to see the brightness of the day and how to experience the mysteriousness of the night. What is most regrettable, we have stopped listening to beating heart of our Earth which is dying."
Other band members include Sergiy "Skred" Yurovych (bass) and Nazar “Rembo” Pogorletsky (drums).
New wave alternative
The modern and surprisingly unexpected sound of rockers Sample Rate on their album "The Breath" proves that alternative rock is alive. The songs express a real passion and the best traditions of a new wave alternative. The combination of hard guitars and synth samples, as well as soft, but at the same time, energetic male vocals make each songs unique.
