Great name for a great band!
Best thing I have come across in a long time. Kickass instruments, kickass lyrics combine for wicked jams!
Powerful and moving
This album is full, start to finish with powerful music with a directed imagination. The percussive sound is the foundation to the band added with a ringing guitar, tight bass line and the inlays of the Mandolin and banjo melt into a unique sound. Introspective without being boring, exploratory with great direction and sounds of the bands northwest roots bleeding through. Get this album, then see them live!

Although the Builders and the Butchers formed in Portland during the mid-2000s, the band's hybrid of folk, country, and twangy rock evokes the Great Depression more than the contemporary Northwest. The group's beginnings date back to fall 2003, when frontman Ryan Sollee relocated from Alaska to Portland with his then-current band, the Born Losers.
