Amazing Album - Amazing Artist
As a connoisseur of Christmas music, I can't begin to express how wonderful this CD is. The artist has a pristine voice and he really captures the holiday spirit. I especially LOVE Christmas Spirit! This CD is amazing and I can't wait to add it to my holiday rotation of songs for this holiday season! Thanks, Richard Marx!
Very Good but…..BUT…
"I Heard the Bells" is my favorite BUT it is a knock off of Casting Crowns' version. This even sounds like the exact track they used. Basically, it's Marx singing the same arrangement, with the same vocal variation as Mark from Casting Crowns. Even in the same key. Good, but definitely not an original arrangement. I think he just got a hold of the Casting Crowns studio track and sang over it.
Silent Night with Sara Watkins is amazing, to be expected. Alleluia is the only song on here that I don't quite get.
Overall, this is a pretty solid Christmas album. Take the money you were gonna use on Bieber's holiday butchering and spend it on this, Michael Buble's new Christmas album, and Matt Wertz's Christmas. If you have extra, spend it on She & Him's Christmas Album and Dave Barnes' Christmas album.
