Awesome!!
Matt Fisher & the Telephone Junkies are unlike most other new bands out there because they have TALENT. I heard them play live out in New Jersey when I was visiting family a while ago and they are the best live band I've seen since U2. If you are lucky enough to live in the New York/LBI New Jersey area, go out and see them as soon as you can!
Serious Talent!
This band is awesome! Matt's guitar riffs are beyond cool, and Zack's bass and John's drums complete their great, original sound. All 10 of these songs sound GREAT! This is a rock group, not pop. Buy this album! They can go BIG!!
More Than I Could Have Expected - Sweet!
Really excellent sound - hard to believe it's a first album. "Free" captures the anxiety of transition from teen to adulthood, "Officer Ray" is a hip ballad about the cop we all know who should've been a Rent-A Cop or LifeGuard, and everything else in between moves with inspiring lyrics, clear vocals with good range, and original rhythms that carries a sound that reminds you of an old, familiar friend. If you expect to hear cookie-cutter songs with lots of album filler, you'll be wrong. Matt Fisher and the Telephone Junkies are real, solid, diverse, and talented. You'll feel as if you've heard them before - like a musical "deja vu" - but you didn''t. Their sound is just that comfortable, like an old pair of sweats. Chillax and ease into them - you'll soon be a Matt FIsher junkie. (Art Blanchet)
