Morel quote: "eleven new songs about the things that bring you down"

I'm a huge fan and could hardly wait for the new disc! Bought it as soon as available. Really enjoying the music - especially love "Anymore, anymore." If you are a Morel fan, I think you will enjoy, but be warned it is a little more rock than previous works. Perfect music for fall melancholy-ness! Thanks Morel!

Awesome!

I enjoy the entire CD, but have to write that Anymore, Anymore is a Rock masterpiece in terms of musical composition and vocal. I recommend you download it and listen to it several times in a row--loud--with your eyes closed so you can focus on it's many sound layers. Morel's vocal pulls the listening in and through the song, while these high-energy guitar riffs and awesome percussion (I'm sure the guy broke several sets of drum sticks) adds an emotional power punch to the song. Rich's vocal is steady and deep in his characteristic style that I enjoy to much. It's the wild guitar riffs and drums unleashing an energy and conveying the inner turmoil and frustration that's at the heart of the lyrics. Download and enjoy! Thanks Morel for putting out this CD!

F-ing krist man,

Morel nails it down all over the place. Peerless melodics. Not sure how else to call it. Just spent the day listening to Flawed, Death of[...], and Anymore. Over and over and over again. I just listened to Death of a Paperboy on repeat for 2 hours. . The most excited I've been about a singer for some time, although also recently dipping back into Soft Bulletin, an old foundational encounter, and check out the Borderline video. Incredible. But yeah, Morel is that good. There aren't many who can do that, where the melodics/vocal goes into harmonic dance with the drums, which are hard hit on that one track Anymore. Almost maybe a bit low in the mix, but I haven't given it the herbal listen yet so reserve j.

Biography

Genre: Electronic

Years Active: '00s

After achieving prominence in the dance music world during the late '90s through a series of high-profile remixes and his work with Deep Dish, Richard Morel decided to step out from behind the mixing desk to offer his own tunes. But Morel's solo debut, Queen of the Highway, reflected more than just his background in electronica: it gave him a chance to draw off a lifetime of artistic experiences. Growing up outside Boston, Morel was turned on to literary titans like Tennessee Williams, Hemingway,...
