Hard to say….
If you're a fan of Starflyer 59, chances are that's the only reason you came to this album on iTunes. This is definitely made by the same family. And yet, it doesn't do anything for me remotely as well as Starflyer 59 did with their "Silver and Gold" days of music. The vocals are a bit too off key and too stereotypically shoe gazer for my taste. The album kind of comes off like, "Hey we sound depressed, and ghostly, we moan our lyrics. We're shoe gazer see? Buy our album."
But it's my style to listen to an album and give it a chance. Chances are that if the Martins have anything to do with it, there's bound to be a song or two that I like. I think I'd have to say "together We're Electric" is the best song of the album. It could be enjoyed at a local concert somewhere. Unfortunately, it's also just an ok song.
