Excellent Album

It looks like iTunes released this album again for some reason, but thats besides the point. This is an excellent album, and a must-buy in my opinion. One thing that you have to realize about this album though is that John Frusciante and the Chili Peppers are very different in their sound. If you like the Chili Peppers, do not automatically expect to enjoy this album. It is much less radio friendly. However, this is one of my favorite albums of all time. Definitely give this a listen.

Also, if you haven't heard, John quit the Red Chili Peppers. :(

Empyrean

This is the most important album I have ever listened to, by one of the most beautiful people I am blessed to have the opportunity to listen to. This is not an album. It is an experience. An empyrean is the highest place in Heaven, and this is a perfect name for an album like this- as it takes you through an almost religious experience from Before the Beginning to After the Ending. I'm not going to bother talking about the individual songs on this record, because this album is truly the sum of its parts: it is a movie of music meant to be listened to in its entirity with nothing else interfering. Anyone who listens to Red Hot Chili Peppers and comes looking at Frusciante's solo work for that same funk and wit that Chad and Flea and Anthony bring should look elsewhere for that style of music, Frusciante's solo work is almost the opposite of that he does with the Chilis. This is pure, raw, and elegantly crafted. To those who have never heard The Empyrean, I envy and pity you.

AMAZING ALBUM, BAD FORMAT

Seriously, this record was the best of 2009.

128kpbs mp3 quality is less than 1/6th of CD quality.

John Frusciante recored this album using all analog passing, so the best option would be to do him and you the favor and buy the Vinyl LP or at least CD and hear the sonic depth intended in this great record
