Good stuff!!

A Layered Dreamscape

This is a pretty neat band that has something different to offer. Instrumentally they are very interesting, incorporating several different styles and sounds, bringing something truly unique to the table. Steve's vocals are reminiscent of classic hard driving rock in the early stages, when metal was starting to develop and take form. This unique vocal style that Steve brings us is combined with several pulsing rythms that are a combination of this hard driving rock style that briefly intertwines with a taste of heavy metal. Next we see an layer of pop-like riffs and electric sounds. Finally, the drums are always driving, and sometimes imitate a shuffled electronica drum beat. (most notable in My Brother, The Devil) This interesting combination of layers creates a lush landscape for what some call "Dreamscape" I am an independent filmmaker, and frequently use music as a creative impetus, especially for screenwriting. I have listened to this album exstensively while writing my latest script. This album as a whole is a goldmine for creative video applications, and I can vividly picture music video possibilities for many of the songs, as well montages. (New York City has proved to be my favorite for video dreamscaping) From a musical standpoint I greatly appreciate this album, and from the video/film point of view, I cannot get enough!

Review of the Expat

His voice is very unique and the songs are catchy. My favorite song is Dramactic Girls Forever!
The Expat is a good mixture of rock and pop and is something new. The lyrics are realy interesting too. If you like the Muse I think you will realy enjoy this album.
