Album Review

With a band name like that, the Expendables are simply begging for snotty drive-by non-reviews of the "Yes, quite" variety. The problem is that their music doesn't always provide enough of a defense against that kind of quick dismissal. Hailing from the beachside town of Santa Cruz, CA, the Expendables refer to themselves as a "surf culture" band, more in the Jack Johnson sense than the Dick Dale sense: The Expendables is filled with shaggy, reggae-based jam band skanks just made for middle-class white boys with dreadlocks to kick their hacky sacks to. These songs range from dull ("Paper Chains") to laughably bad (the self-explanatory "Ganja Smuggling"), which makes the occasional catchy little guitar pop tune like "One More Night" stand out more than it otherwise would. At their best, the Expendables are an inoffensive throwback to mid-'90s alterna-pop nobodies like Fastball and Deep Blue Something. At their worst, they're every trustafarian cliché come to tie-dyed life.

Who writes the main reviews on itunes?

Whoever wrote the above review is obviosly not a fan of this genre of music. If you like Sublime, Stoopid, Pepper, Etc. you will love these guys. Itunes should not hire pop music fans to write reviews for this type of music. BTW "ganja smuggling" is a great cover of a classic reggae tune by Eek a Mouse. Buy this album, ignore the words of the BrittneySpearsLoving nuttwrangler above.

iTunes, seriously?

dear mr reviewer, wtf. I get you dont like the album, and thats fine. what i dont get, is why you would give it such an unprofessionaly crap talking review. do you want people to buy music from you or not? and my real point is, that The Expendables, are awesome. please, if you havent listened to them, dont read that itunes review trash, because if you have a 1/4 of a brain on your shoulders you can tell the reviewer doesnt know anything about the music or genre he/she is reviewing. (btw, you ignorant reviewer, ganja smugglin' is a cover of a classic reggae song, so please, until you posess some musical knowledge, shut the hell up)

Who wrote the review for iTunes?

This is possibly the worst review i have ever seen on iTunes. How can the reviewers give good a review to hanson and jonas brothers and give such a poor review to the expendables? Oh and by the way "ganja smuggling" is a cover of a great reggae song by eek-a-mouse.moron
