Highly Anticipated

For those in the know, City Scholar has left an indelible impact on the NYC hip-hop scene. Mixed tapes and bootlegs have been widely circulated, and his shows, which have reached across the U.S., have built on the anticipation mounting this long awaited release. The energy of his live performances are perfectly captured, though I highly recommend catching him live. City Scholar wields a lyricism possessing a wisdom often sought after, but rarely achieved, in any genre of music. There is something to be gained from each one of these tracks.

Good music

I'm not really into rap but I think this is a great album. My favorite songs are Hands on the ground and One minds notion. I wish there were videos for the songs, so I can get some visual. I seen him perform once at a show case a few years back, I think he is a great performer very confident, well spoken and very sexy. I can't wait for a tour to come into play, I'll be on it whenever that happens. I think the album would be enjoyed by everyone who loves hip hop or just getting into it, its a true work of art.

Cities need scholars

Hip hop has always been stemmed from the harsh realities of city life for years. Often, it doesnt express a solution or condemnation. City Scholar brings a breath of fresh air and offers a different side of the culture. "Internationally known" is the best record on the cd because it shows a lighter side of music and yet has an uptempo, dirty edge feel to it. The drums are in your face and so is City's lyrics and delivery. I enjoy the music and feel good about his movement.
