The Full Gamut

I am so glad to finally hear this album! Ultimately, I think each version of these songs were better on 'And All The Colors' (with the possible exception of 'Electric Bible,') but it is great to finally have it in this incarnation, too. I saw the original lineup perform most of these songs 'live' so many times, and I was so anxious to hear the studio versions. I really liked 'Easier to See,' (especially the chorus inspired by 'Many Rivers to Cross,' which ended up on 'Ian Moore's Got the Green Grass.') Again, I think the later versions on 'Colors' were better, but that could be expected to happen with an additional 2 years to perfect the songs. But I agree with what Ian said in an interview regarding this version: had this album been released on time, I think it would have sold millions. Everything the band had built to that point had them on the cusp of 'multi-platinum superstar' status, and I believe these songs, at that time, with major label backing, would have been huge. So, listening to this version, with my favorite line-up of the band playing what I feel are Ian's best songs, ran the full gamut of emotions for me. It was exciting to finally hear these versions. It brought back a flood of memories of the dozens of IMB shows I attended and the anticipation I had for this album. It validated all the unsolicited rantings I lobbed at friends and family that these guys were great and were going to be huge one day. And it made me sad and a little angry to think of what might have happened for the four of them had the label released this in 1998 or 99. Because, while I loved everything Ian released from 'Green Grass' through 'Luminaria,' this lineup was where the magic was, and I would love to have seen where they would have gone from here.

Wow!!!

This is by far my favorite "version" of Ian Moore. I've always admired and respected all he's done over the years but this is the one closest to my heart.
