This Album Shines Beyond the Haters

This is what I'm talking about! Do not be persuaded by the one star ratings of this artist. If you like artists like Gnarles Barkley, Robin Thicke, Jamiroquai, Nikka Costa, Lenny Kravitz, and Van Hunt, this is the album for you! I agree this is surely not Urban R&B but is instead a fusion of Blue Eyed Soul, a little Rock & Roll, some Funk, and a taste of 60’s old school Motown/Beatle-esque elements thrown in for good measure (listen to "In Your Bedroom"). This is hard to categorize. I loved it! Innovative and fresh! Out of 14 cuts for $9.99 over ten of them I would buy individually. "Moved On" is off the chain. Listen to the Blues guitar in "Decisions" which reminds me of a smoky Mississippi Tavern with sexy Sly & The Family Stone Funk vocals over it. "If You Believe" is also very Sly. "Holding On" is my love. It's simply beautiful. "No One" captures Jamiroquai & The Brand New Heavies. Needless to say, there are certainly influences from different genres and well-known artist but the melding of them and the interpretation is what makes Nino original. If you are looking for Mary J, Usher, Neyo, Jamie Foxx type R&B (which is over saturated in my opinion) this may not be what you expected. However, I suggest broadening your musical horizons and giving this artist a listen. - Q LeNear

Fresh Sound

There's an organic quality to Nino's music that just hooks you. I've been listening to "Are You For Real" on repeat for days now and I never get sick of it! I wouldn't be swayed by bad reviews if I were you. It's true that he has a new sound that doesn't categorize well, but THAT'S THE POINT. He's original and fresh - a true musician. That's hard to find these days.

A Spark

This album will not get the radio spins becuase of its scope and direction. The songs are a smooth blend of funk and r&b without the ever tiresome "geusts" that most mainstream "hits" have these days. Nino's voice is unique and at times it is also nice to listen to, but on some tracks like, "Decisions" it gets a bit anoying. I like the album and look forward to his brand of r&b.
