Finally! I have been waiting since I saw Cassidy in Houston to get this album.
He is absolutely amazing and far superior to Bieber or Miley Cyrus. :P
You should definitely buy the entire album, but if you want a couple of songs, I would get:
Whiskey in Churches: A great track to showcase his vocals as well as make you want to dance.
Daylight Breaks: A gorgeous and heartful ode to love.
Foolish Boy: An anthem of-sorts for those struggling along the path to where they want to go as well as his past self.
Ride the Night: One of the best dance tracks of 2010, if not the best. Ke$ha needs to watch her back.
Dying to Live: Written to express that "life is too short to let it go by", it is probably one of the most beautiful lyrics I have ever heard.
I love it. :D
Unusual and Awesome
Let's get this straight--The Fool is anything but predictable. Part acoustic singer-songwriter, part rock, and part folk, the album manages to pull diverse sounds and influences into a cohesive musical experience. This is the kind of music you play over and over again, each time finding new layers, whether in the meaning of the lyrics or the production of the tracks. This is an album you live in.
Highlights of the album are nearly impossible to pick out, because nearly every track qualifies as a highlight. Foolish Boy, Ride the Night, and Dying to Live stand out as new songs, while the remake of Whiskey in Churches adds depth without losing the addictive qualities of the older version.
All in all, The Fool is music to be heard.
The Fool
This album is excellent! It has a variety of soulful "singer songwriter" type songs and all out dance tracks. His lyrics are great, his voice will touch you, his music is gifted. He really brings it!
