DEFINATE buy
Shane Kirsch truly demonstrates his abilities as both a performer as well as composer in this album. He is able to create all sorts of different musical ideas and emotions in each song. My personal favorite line is his break down in "Land of the Most" which is both funky and an exellent (and unfortunatly, the only) breakthrough where Shane's Jazz and Bebop elements come through and mesh with the funk. Keep 'em coming Shane...
Fantastic album!
Shane Kirsch has released a really wonderful album here. It most definitely exemplifies his breadth and talent as a musician. He keeps his tunes upbeat and fun while interspersing some less traditional, darker numbers as well. There is clearly a great amount of collaboration that went into this album and it comes through in the music. The tunes that stood out in my mind were "Espionage," "RCS," and "Change". The solos in "Espionage" and "RCS" are especially impressive and "Change" I find to be an intriguing but fun groove. My only regret is that more of Kirsch's jazz influences did not come through in some of his numbers. While some tunes definitely exhibited them wonderfully, others felt a little too electronic. I know that this album has been classified as electronica but I want to hear more from Shane Kirsch's jazz side!
Great CD
This CD is excellent and a great new addition to iTunes. Everyone should buy this CD and if not the whole CD, at least the song "Land of the Most", it is great.
