Album Review
As a latter-day holiday album from Kenny Rogers, The Gift isn't half bad, thanks to the professional production and Rogers' honeyed voice, but it does suffer from uneven material and the occasional indifferent performance. There are enough good moments here to make it worthwhile for hardcore Kenny fans, but not enough to make it of interest to less dedicated listeners.

My favorite Christmas Album
Kenny Rogers is really a gift, along with this album. "Mary, Did You Know", with Wynonna, and "It's the Messiah" are my absolute favorites. Kenny Rogers just has an awesome voice -- one of those that anyone, regardless of preferred music genre, can enjoy. He has had a stellar and best-selling career, and this album is an exclamation point on his library of great songs!
I LOVE THIS ALBUM!!
I can honestly say I didn't grow up listening to Kenny Rogers. My parents were huge fans and I would hear a few songs here and there even in movies. I'm now 29 and I have to say I'm wiser!! And I heard this album and I fell in love with it!! I don't particularly listen to gospel music, I must admit, If Kenny Rogers sings it, I'm listening. It's soft, smooth, heartfelt and it touched me. Thank you Kenny!
