iTunes Review

Although this Beach Boys collection leans on the obvious hits, it totally does the job. Ardent fans and aficionados most likely already own all the singles here, and many enthusiasts of the Wilson brothers will tell you that some of their best songs were album tracks. Furthermore, nothing past 1966 is included – except for some reason, 1988's "Kokomo" which was tagged on at the very end. But at the end of the day, it's still the Beach Boys, so should you need some instantly recognizable West Coast falsettos for the soundtrack to your next tropical cocktail party or social gathering, this sonic collage of mostly '60s hits will more than suffice. After all, it does kick off with a mono version of "Surfin' Safari" which still holds up as the original 1962 anthem to that crazy surfing craze that all the kids in Malibu were getting hip to back in the day. Also, classics like "409," "Shut Down," and "Little Deuce Coupe" serve to remind us that the Beach Boys were also champions of the custom car culture that still thrives today. And if "God Only Knows" from Pet Sounds doesn't move you in the slightest, you can always skip straight to "Kokomo."

Takes me back!

The Beach Boys and the 60's...yea! These songs bring back so many memories from my teen years. My granddaughters got me hooked on itunes and we share a lot of the same music, but now its my turn to let them experience some of "my" music. My favorites are "Don't Worry Baby", "California Girls", "Surfer Girl" and "409". Enjoy them for yourself!

I'm only 12 years old (almost 13), but I think the Beach Boys are so inspireing. We wouldn't have all this cool music today if we didn't have them. See, i'm a HUGE fan of the Jonas Brothers and if we didn't have the Beach Boys I don't think we would any music like the JoBros today. Thts why i'm a huge fan of classic music: close to 60s to 90s.

I love the Beach Boys! :)
