Ever since 2002, The Highway Murderers have provided the Santa Cruz, Calif., underground with an octane boost of hard-rocking party music. Initially championed by the area’s more hardcore skateboarders as well as members of the local chopper-building community (namely Jason Jessee), the band’s music made its way into various skate videos and the Choppertown documentary. This landed The Highway Murderers a devoted fanbase in Japan’s outlaw motorcycle culture. Their 2007 self-titled debut opens with “Bloodhammer,” a post-hardcore thrash-metal assault that incorporates the rapid-fire drumming normally associated with Norwegian black metal. Singer Ry Murder screams like he’s been gargling glass shards, while the guitar duels between Creepy Cody and Mobby Murder play like an axe battle to the death. “Newmonia” plays with the hyperactive drive of classic '80s skate punk before “Death Race 5000” grooves hard and fast on a blues boogie as Murder yells.

Sick moshing band
this band is sikk! they always play in santa cruz and they playd with the lost boyz at the 418! (sik show by the way)...this band has great moshing music too

Well this really isn't pop. To the guy who reviews music @ i-tunes: Just listen to this stuff before you categorize it. This is a very good cd, these guys are rad live! Buy this before it's gone.
