Awesome!
The highlight of my weekly yoga class is when they play Vasi, the vocals on that track are second to none. Also be sure to check out Ma Durga, Sting's presence on that song is icing on the cake. Each song on the album is unique in its own way, and this is definitely one of those few CD's you can listen to from start to finish, and then play it all over again!
Lokah Review
It’s imperative to understand that any communication that contributes to this life with a positive tip is something worth checking out. After a listen to this album you will find yourself singing the songs throughout your day while being absent of speakers. Russell Simmons creates a spark for the album within the introduction. The self titled track, Lokah, is mesmerizing and is a great introduction to the bands style as well as the overall environment they have constructed for their debut album. Kali Maheshwari is intense and you will chant to it as the rhythms sink in fast while Sri Michael & Uma Nanda Saraswati sing with urgency. Sabmilla Bolo is delivered with sincerity. I found myself chanting the chorus over and over during my most recent jog. Vasi is extremely atmospheric. The texturing on this gem has an amazing majestic sound. Headphones are required. Ma Durga is a must listen. Lokah pulls no stops bringing in Sting to sing on this track. He introduces the song with a smooth as silk performance. Overall, this album should be listened to repeatedly.
