The Jacksons’ 1981 tour was a disco spectacular featuring a rainbow light show, futuristically sequined costumes, and a catalogue of some of the most danceable songs in pop music history. Live marks the intersection of the Jacksons’ history as a group and the massive solo success of Michael Jackson. Standing on the verge of Thriller, a now-grown Michael sings “Ben,” “I’ll Be There” and “I Want You Back / ABC / The Love You Save” with the same passion he brings to recent hits like “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” and “Shake Your Body (Down To the Ground).” “Can You Feel It” and the wistful “This Place Hotel” offer some sense of how exciting it was to see the brothers bring their magic to a stadium crowd. While most disco acts simply didn’t translate in the live setting, the Jacksons deliver “Off the Wall” and “Rock With You” without sacrificing the immaculate studio sheen of the originals. Still, “She’s Out of My Life” conjures the concert’s definitive image: Michael singing alone on stage, one leg planted in his youthful past and the other stepping towards his future as the King of Pop.

The Concert I Missed But The Album I Listened To A Million Times!
I was a kid and my older brother and his wife and kids were going to the concert. Of course I wanted to go but they said they did not have a ticket for me. I cried but I got over it. However the day of the concert I was filling really bad so I went outside to play and went as far as I could from my house. Well my brother was going to surprise me and take me to the concert but I was not there. They looked for me but could not find me. When I came home and my mom told me I thought I would die. That was the worse moment of my childhood. I was so thankful a few years later that this album came out. I would be in my room and play this album and be MJ through out the entire concert. I played that album I know a million times. When I got older, got married, had children and got saved I stopped listening to secular music so all my Jackson music got lost. Believe it or not I just started downloading it again early this year. I forgot about this one but with the passing of the greatest performer to ever live I have t get it all back.

Never let it be said that the Jacksons weren't number one for a reason. this album shows every reason why they were. from picking which songs to use to thrill the an audience to the five part harmony and fantastic musicians playing behind them, the Jacksons put on what a lot of new groups lack, a show! Sit back and try to relax while you listen. It won't be long until you too are jamming right along with them.
