Rediscovering Lea Salonga
Hopefully the world will rediscover Lea Salonga again with this cd. An amazing vocalist, Lea soars in most of her songs. "Too Much For One Heart" is a treat. My fave in the album. She belts "On My Own" that will put all other Eponines to shame. "Match maker, Match maker" is fun same as "Theres nothing i Wouldn't do". I like it when Lea sings the jazzy broadway type cross over kind of songs.
Overall, the album is a fresh treat to broadway jazz and Lea Salonga fans. Shes a bit chatty in her concert sometimes though. But the beautiful voice compensates that aspect. Hopefully her new American producer will collaborate with good composers for an all original follow up CD.
Amazing album!!
We had the great fortune to see her opening night at the Carlyle last year and was thrilled to discover that the show has been preserved, and now for people to listen to over and over again. Yes, it is that good and to be able to capture the laughter, the stories and that crystal clear voice rendering her signature songs in such clear, crisp and clean live recording. Thank you LML for producing the CD. Brava, Ms. Salonga! We look forward to your future concerts and Carlyle repeats.
One of the Great Voices
Lea Salonga has one of the great voices. She has matured so much since Miss Saigon. She knows how to deliver a song with spirit emotion and professionalism. It is good to see here have this recording out so everybody could hear that she is the real deal
