Loved experiencing The Journey

As a REAL MUSIC fan I am very discerning when it comes to purchases I make. Frankly, I want my money's worth in this tight economy. Haven't been able to book any international flights or cruises lately, but I booked passage on Sir Gant & The InVisible Force's JOURNEY, much to my delight. EVERY TRACK is exceptional! Whether I am in the mood for a funky dance trek, an African safari, or a love sojourn The Journey gives me passage to every port of my emotions.

In this day of auto-tuned, sampled, and filtered music, the Journey is a much-needed breath of fresh air. Each song is beautifully composed and arranged, with great melodies, driving rhythms and organic soul, nothing contrived. The single, "I'm Gonna Miss You" with its sensitive lyric and beautiful melody should be adopted as an anthem for loved ones. My favorite is "So Much In Love"...OMG, lush keyboards by Sir Gant, that intertwine with the incredible drumming by Omar Hakim and percussion from Paulinho da Costa! The string arrangement by Sir Gant and Derek Nakamoto adds a velvet smooth complement to the anchoring bass line. Other tracks feature Marcus Miller on bass; Gerald Albright on sax; Al McKay and David T. Walker, guitars and a host of other primo musicians.

All in all, dollar for dollar, this is the best music purchase I've made in a very long time. No skipping over tracks on this one---even the interludes BETWEEN songs, which are creative variations on the single are great listening in and of themselves. I give this CD the highest rating possible. I suspect we will hear these songs for many years to come---can you say CLASSICS? Like I said, I loved experiencing The Journey and I hope many others will get on board, in celebration of the return of REAL, TOP CALIBER MUSIC!

SmoothJazz.com Review

Please welcome music royalty to our inner circle… Dean Gant, known in the biz as “Sir Gant,” leading producer, arranger, keyboardist and composer, has released a vibrant, inspired collection of songs on his own recording label, debuting as Sir Gant & The Invisible Force with THE JOURNEY; a satisfying anthology celebrating Gant’s musical genius. He has contributed to the success of many world-renown recording artists over the years, including Anita Baker, whom he co-produced with on her Grammy-winning, top-selling album RAPTURE. THE JOURNEY is one of the most exciting new releases we’ve had the pleasure of enjoying with special guests Ricky Lawson, Gerald Albright, Nathan East, Marcus Miller and Paulinho da Costa among other studio celebs. From the sophisticated, jazz joint “Hangin’ With Q,” a tribute to Quincy Jones… to the eloquent Smooth Jazz tune, “Les Bleu,” to the first single “I’m Gonna Miss You” featuring Marc Nelson (Boyz II Men), THE JOURNEY is an embarkation to world-class musicianship highlighting all of the flavors of contemporary jazz… straight, smooth, world, pop and R&B from one of the most gifted tunesmith’s of our time.

Great project!

This is a great album. Every song stands on its own, with impeccable production, flawless musicianship & great songwriting. Together it's a seamless, fantastic voyage/journey. Kudo's to Sir Gant & his Invisible Force, ( I wouldn't call Marcus Miller, Omar Hakim, Steve Ferrone, Nathan East, Paulinho Da Costa and more invisible though). Marc Nelson's vocals blend perfectly & Tim (Tio) Owens adds a wonderfully smooth Isley brothers like sound to the mix. Grammy winning engineer, Neal Pogue (Outkasts, Love Below/Speakerbox) brings out all the elements with his great mixing and co-production support. Album of the year, so far in my book!
