Reminiscent of it's source material, yet pleasantly satisfying.
Mr. Zur has become quite the go-to guy in regrads to epic fantasy video game soundtracks. In "War of The North" he takes the masterful craft of Howard Shore's LOTR film score and uses it to flavor a very moody, emotionaly driven soundscape into the land of Middle-Earth. He keeps the original feel established by Shore and yet makes it feel new and refreshing. There is no doubt you're in Middle -Earth, but it gives Tolkien fans a great new soundtrack. A great trip Mr. Zur, bravo.

Awesome game (beaten it twice). Awesome Soundtrack. Obviously nothing beats Howard Shore. Still, this would make him proud!
Great Score
With the Lord of the Rings franchise comes great expectations. Inon Zur has met those expectations as well. It isn't the same as Howard Shore composing the films, but I feel this score almost matches it.
Another thing that could be a downer for some people though, is in a few of the songs I heard a little bit of musical influence, in one or two tracks, from Zur's last soundtrack: Dragon Age. This could annoy some people to hear that. But it personally didn't bother me.
