IF YOU WERE A FAN OF SCAR SYMMETRY OR THE LAST MISERATION ALBUM GET THIS

Miseration is still way under the radar and no one knows about them. They deserve so much more attention. Your angels--their demons and the mirroring shadow are extremely brutal and well contructed death metal albums. This album is a little different from the last one, for example, im not sure if they got a new drummer, but the druming is much tighter and more brutal and technical Another difference is christian uses no clean vocals on this album, though be barely used any on the last, but he made moments were he did. The guitar work isnt amazing, but the brutal riffs make up for it. Christians vocals are as good as ever, cookie monster brutality. An interesting thing that miseration does is their breakdowns. Some of them sound metalcore like, but are a million times more brutal. If you dont get the whole album i highly recommend checking out "Voyaging the seas of thought" first. Other amazing tracks are "Sulphury Sun", "Imago" and "Dreamdecipher"

This is a great album

Okay, so it's true. Anyone who owns "Your Demons-Their Angels" will immediately notice that "The Mirroring Shadow" is something of a shift in direction. There are fewer obvious melodic guitar passages, no melodic vocals, and slightly less variety in the album overall. If you are hoping for a repeat of their first offering you may be a little disappointed, as "The Mirroring Shadow" is more of a straight forward album.

As much as I love "Your Demons", I was hoping that with "Shadow" Miseration wouldn't rest on their laurels and just release a clone of their first record. Since what I was looking for was something different, what I heard on "The Mirroring Shadow" was a delight to me. The sheer crushing power of the album is remarkable unto itself: Blastbeats pound through every song, the guitars passages are technical enough to make any Suffocation fan smile, and when the boys do get melodic, the atmosphere of the album is mezmerizing.

If you love death metal, get "The Mirroring Shadow". There's absolutely nothing to dislike. Just be open to a more straight ahead sound than what you've heard from Miseration before.

Best Death Metal vocalist in history

Their debut was good, but this is much, much better. Shame to see he is no longer with Scar Symmetry but i think he's having fun with his other bands. Good to see that both Christian and Scar Symmetry are moving along strong with their musical endeavors. Props to the other guys in the band as their parts were very impressive and enjoyable as well. Looking forward whenever they decide to put out their next record (rumor is it will be before then end of the year).

Years Active:

Originally launched as a joint partnership between vocalist Christian Älvestam (Scar Symmetry, Incapacity, Solar Dawn, etc.) and guitarist Jani Stefanovic (Solution .45, Essence of Sorrow, Crimson Moonlight, etc.), Swedish death metal project Miseration balance utmost brutality with astonishing musicianship. In other words, the vocalist can sing clean or croak like a beast, and the guitarist is a virtuosic beast — and also handled all of the bass and drums on their debut album. Released in...
