Customer Reviews

only two reviews for the Mollusk? blasphemy, I tell ya!!!

Ween's 1997 nautical opus, "the Mollusk", stands not only as their crowning acheivement, but also as one of the greatest albums of the last 20+ years. The Mollusk is a psychedelic masterpiece: heady, funny and out there. It features some of the best song writing since Lennon and McCartney's hey-day and adept musicianship from Gene and Dean Ween. The duo pay homage to their influences (pink floyd, the beatles) while creating a unique universe of sounds all their own. From the sublime title track, to the hypnotic "Mutilated Lips", to the raunchy "Blarney Stone", to the tender "It's Gonna Be (Alright)", to the King Crimson-esque "Buckingham Green", all the way to the melodramatic "She Wanted to Leave", the Mollusk never lets down and proves (once again) that Ween can do it all.

Along with the occasional frat-boy lapses into misogyny, racism,...
