FANTASIC! Welcome to the world of Nungan
"Fantastic" is too weak of a word to describe this album, but it's the best word that I can think of for now. Listening to it all evokes feelings of past and present loves, lovers, friends and family that i've lost contact with and created new ones. It's a breath of fresh air from a lot of the "typical" music that's currently on radio, but SAT radio listeners who are tired of the commercialization of music will understand the ear candy that is "The Moon and the Star". A beautiful piece of art that brings promise to true music lovers; that there's beautiful music in the world if we just pay attention to it and truly appreciate the art. The influence of Esperanza Spalding, Meshell Ndegeocello, Erykah Badu, Sade and countless wonderfull songstresses can be heard in Annie Francheteau's voice (who happenns to play bass guitar) can be heard through out with her own signature twist. Benji's guitar playing is the perfect compliment to her voice in both French and English lyrics. The "Humanity" track is my "lullaby" moment and am sure it will be yours as well, but every track is a success. They are a soon to be force in the World music scene; to classify them as just being "pop" would be [my opinion] an insult to the passion of this masterpiece. The future is bright for Nungan, hopefully many will take part of this wonderful endevour of Nungan and become more than just fans, but family to what seems to be the vanguard to musics' renaissance. BRAVO NUNGAN!! With your sound the horizon is brighter and more beautiful.
Best album of 2010.
This is by far the best album I purchased in 2010. Smooth vocals, incredible songwriting and outstanding musicianship.
