here is a review
well, you can download the first track for free online and this is a review of that. not aware of other two remixes but how do you even remix the field? I'm not sure... anyway, I really like this song. more of the ebb and flow pulse I liked about From Here We Go Sublime (FHWGS): simple hi-hat and bass repetition, sparkling chimes, dueling female seductive moans, a little synthesized guitar... a break... and then bring it all back to the calming end - all to put you in the zone, a rhythm to move you as do whatever it is you are doing. play it in the background, play it in the forefront, let your neighbors hear it, keep it to yourself - if you are a fan of his previous work this one falls right in line and you'll not be disappointed. So why 4 stars? well, the song is called "the more that I do" and has he really done more? i'm scared that "yesterday and today" (YAT) will not have the surprises of FHWGS, that the more that he does is really doing more of what he did. you could slip this into FHWGS and not even notice it is a new track. it's a good song, same as "yesterday's" album that we get "today" but I hope he has some aces in the hole for YAT. song is on repeat.
The Field delivers
The Field's first album, despite the initial shock of its radical sample construction style, became one of my favorite albums of all time. I can't wait until th enew album comes out. This tasty piece is a hint of what is to come. The Field's method is simple (sample, loop, double loop, driving bass and beat) but he does it with a taste for the unusual. No one does it like The Field.
