Amazing!

Saw this guy when I went to a tech n9ne concert and couldn't get enough of him. Every track is fire

Stevie is the definition of unique, sporting his voice as his main offering, but not his only one.

Stevie Stone first caught my eye in an article just before this release, so I started listening to him. Near every track on his debut is solid, and showcases his talents as an MC. It's a solid offering, and while it wont be breaking any "top ten" lists, it's still worth buying.

Stone's voice is most certainly the first thing that will stick out on a first listen. To be truthful, this is his most interesting quality, and it does a good job supporting his role as the only rapper on most tracks. His flow his aggressive yet nimble, and he is able to twist is way through most tracks. There are few times he falters during the 49 minutes of audio though some may find his lack of addressing complex issues makes him repetitive.

Lyrically, he's simply average, sporting a somewhat simple vocabulary and sometimes making juvenile attempts on wordplay and rhymes. His charisma and flow make up for any lack of lyrics however, and create a well-atuned framework of the record.

The album's production is pretty good, and most tracks showcase the classic electro-midwest sound, usually backed by some "southern" instrumentals, such as a violin. This adds a flavor to Stone's voice and fits in perfectly.

The weakest track here is "Inka Blinka", while it isn't a bad track, it just doesn't do justice to his flow or his content package he delivers on the album. The best here are "Midwest Explosion", "Rap Gamez Callin'", and "Red Wine".

Overall, Stevie has made his point, while not being a technical rapper. He exceeds where his style asks him to, and he will continue to grow and improve. The album is defiantly worth a pick-up.
