A taunt so crucial ...
This record encapsulates the sound of one of the most original bands out there. Mixing frenetic rhythms and grooves with enough swagger to propel your belt buckle from your waist; careening into the stack of Moody Blues records you borrowed from you Uncle. Layers of dense chords and counter melodies that dance and intertwine with each other in a way that would make Hum proud. Changing feels from driving straight ahead to elegantly soulful head-bobbing, directly into the chaotic, start-and-stop of an unfinished animatronic Tyrannosaurus, given sentience and compelled to lay waste upon the unsuspecting metropolis. And flowing in and around all of this, are the acrobatic vocals, which are both commandingly confident and humbly reverent. Born Empty mix all of this together seamlessly into a listening experience that is a musician's dream and completely fun in it's purest sense.
