Album Review

Released at the front end of 1999's Lilith Fair, Mirrorball is a take-home sampler of the live performances that catapulted Sarah McLachlan into the modern rock stratosphere. Over half of the album's 14 songs are radio hits (including four of the first five), proving McLachlan's worth as a pop songstress bar none, but also hinting at an underlying stagnation in her recent musical output. Though fans of McLachlan and folks who missed her Lilith performances will likely enjoy Mirrorball, it's a little too by-the-book to win any converts or please critical listeners. There is little dialogue between songs, for example, and the sound quality is so pristine that if it weren't for the occasional hoot and holler from the audience, one would never know it's a live album.

amazing stuff

there were one or two songs that i was familiar with before i bought the album, and i did not even know that she sang them. i was really impressed with all the other songs, which really show off sarah's unique vocal talents.

Great Cd

After seeing Sarah perform beautifully at the Opening Ceramonies at the Olympics, I grabbed my dad's only Sarah McLachlan Cd, which was this one. I had, previously, only known a few songs like: Building A Mystery, Adia, I Will Remember You, and Angel. I listened to the whole thing while watching the Olympics the next day and really enjoyed it. I wondered and still am, how I didn't realize how good she was earlier. Her good lyrics and musical and singing skills remind me of Jewel, who I have listened to since I was 9. She is a very good artist and this CD led me to get more of her albums.

Mirrorball: A Reflection of Sarah McLauglin's Talent and Artistry

I feel this album does a superb job of highlighting the best works of Sarah McLaughlin. She's a such a talented woman. Her songs always invoke powerful and raw emotions. She is able to do what very few artists can. She engages and leaves her audience with a message to live by and a yearning desire to have more. It's an amazing album, even live. Buy it and you won't regret it. Cheers!!!! :)
