Customer Reviews

Astonishing. Enchanting. Profound.

I first discovered Alain and TJ on youtube from their amazing covers, which led me to their original performances, which led me to their myspace, imeem uploads, whatever i could get my hands on. Their music is like nothing you've ever heard before. It's captivating. From the meek and subtle songs like Love Anyway, to the strong and dynamic Godspeed. Every song on this album has importance. Every song is unique and fascinating. I hope to see a lot more of these extremely talented musicians. With this album available to the mainstream, it's only a matter of time before Alain emerges as the next Damien Rice, with TJ being his Lisa Hannigan of sorts.

Beautiful

One of the best albums I have ever heard in my life. A truly talented artist full of passion and creativity. I especially like Make-Believe, Freedom, and Love Anyway. A must buy! It's a masterpiece, in fact. P.S. The live performance is just as magnificent, if not better.

Wow, belongs on everyone's 'Deserted Island Top 5' List!

Among the talent and genius of Jeff Buckley, the acoustic album, "The Pregnant Letter" by Alain de Courtenay is comprised of ten tracks that don't all belong in the same place. Generally, an album will have one or two cuts that spill out raw, spine-tingling emotion which rockets listeners into a state of euphoria. O contraire mon frere, the ten songs on this album do more than just stimulate our vertebra. Each one speaks with tasteful melodies, astounding riffs and accompaniment that completes the sound perfectly. Albums that deserve to be listened to deeply, completely and often are not found much anymore. This is one of them!
