Minnesota's Finest
Not since Husker Du has such a great band emerged from the icy and lake-riddled state known as Minnesota. Taking elements from such classic bands like Faith No More, Frank Zappa, and Mr. Bungle and also taking elements from contemporaries like Mindless Self Indulgence, Tub Ring and Dog Fashion Disco, SMB manage to create a sound that is unique to them. The goofy Nintendo keyboards add depth to the scatterbrained music that can go from deadly swing music all the way to a fast rap. One aspect of this band that really intrigued me was how great the basslines are. Cass Nee (the bass player) really shows off his range as a bass player in tracks like "Watch Me Die" and "OpinioNation." I strongly recommend this album to anyone looking for something out of the ordinary. Something different from the dreadful pop that has plagued the airwaves. For those out there who are sick of Ashlee Simpson and My Chemical Romance, this is for you.

This cd is a great cd. It is an underground classic. Many people go on myspace everyday so they probably have heard of them or have talked to one of the members. They are a great band. I hope their succes regins forever.
Saw these guys with Femme Fatality, they were crazy!!!
I was happy to see Screaming Mechcanical Brain was the band openeing for one of my favotrite bands, Femme Fatality , in St. Louis, MO a couple weeks back. They have a lot of energy both live and on this album. Check it out!
