On his debut album Plies fills a niche previously occupied by rappers such as Young Buck. Rather than rely on purist rhyme skills, this Fort Myers, Florida, native puts a premium on his ghetto credentials. His point of view doesn’t deviate from the no-nonsense attitude of a street-bred hustler, but Plies is not without insight. “100 Years” is a vicious indictment of a justice system that favors the majority: “How in the f**k can four birds get you a life sentence? / But give a cracker seven years for money launderin' millions.” “Hypnotized” and “Shawty” exemplify the winning formula (perfected in recent years by Florida artists like DJ Khaled, T-Pain, and Flo Rida) in which a rough-and-ready rapper is paired with a sweetened club singer. However Plies’ signature songs are the ones that describe his ruffian lifestyle, club-hopping and cruising the streets with a posse of “goons.” “1 Mo Time,” “I Am the Club,” and “Goons Lurkin” are less about subject matter than unadulterated attitude, and they provide a near-perfect merger of club music adrenaline and gangsta rap menace.

Horrible
What the hell is this trash? Almost every song is terrible, and the ones that aren't are decent because of their guest artists. Plies does nothing right on this album and I can't believe anybody would buy it. All of the songs are offensive, from the lyrics to even sometimes the titles (see "on my dick"), something that could be recitfied if they were good, but they aren't at all. We need to stop peole like Plies from turning rap into crap.

I am so p'od at the producers of this album. Papa Duck, Midnight Black (2 Beats), Hen & Ro (3 Beats), Gold Ru$h, Jonathan Rotem (3 Beats), DVS, Drumma Boy & Ensayne, The Beat Eaters, Jay E, Akon, & DJ Nasty. All of these guys made amazing beats, which is why I gave this a three-star ratiing. If only they gave these beats to someone more worthy then lies because I don't want to listen to the song due to my morals yet the beats are tempting. It is a waste on the producer's part really. They could have sold the beats to anyone with lyrical talent, Nas, Jay-Z, or even rappers that are commercial but still good, 50 Cent, T.I., Rick Ross, Nelly. Seriously I'm just p'od about that. Rate yes if you like the beats but not the lyrics.
Plies 100% Real
Str8 album. I only recommend this for people who understand what Plies is talking about. He is not lyrical at all. He just gives you the truth behind the lives of people who can relate to the harsh realities and struggles of life.
