iTunes Review

Hailing from Detroit, perpetually underground rapper Royce da 5'9" has been putting in work since the ‘90s, coming this close to blowing up but always staying just below the mainstream radar. After severing ties with childhood homie Eminem, he's stayed grinding independently, recording for a gang of indie of labels and building a devoted fanbase. After releasing marginally successful albums but finding more love on messageboards than on the radio, he landed in jail in 2007 for his second-offense DUI. Post-prison he's stayed busy in the studio, working with longtime ally DJ Premier, ghostwriting for Diddy, and dropping mixtapes with Green Lantern and Statik Selektah. The Revival is a 4-song EP whetting appetites for the long-awaited Street Hop album, and plays like the triumphant battle call of a man on a mission. More focused than ever, he unleashes a torrent of highly quotable verses primarily big-upping himself and his Slaughterhouse crew, (Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joel Ortiz), who are featured on the aptly titled track "Warriors." Also check for the baroque-meets-gangsta "Gun Harmonizing" and jaw-dropping wordplay of "Street Hop 2010."

A Preview of Real Hip Hop!

Nowadays, it's real hard to find real hip-hop, whether on the radio or on the Internet. But thanks to the foursome of Royce Da 5'9", Crooked I, Joell Ortiz and Joe Budden, also known as Slaughterhouse, real hip-hop fans have something to cheer about. Though only one track on this EP called "Warriors" features the foursome, the actual Slaughterhouse album is dropping August 11th of this year. As most of us know, Royce has been a monster on the mic since is days with Eminem on songs like "Renegades", "Scary Movie", etc. All I can say is, though this is only four songs, it is well worth $4.00. Support real hip-hop, not by just downloading this EP for free from some hip-hop web site, but support this real MC by purchasing this EP via any digital online retailer. The only way hip-hop like this will stick around is if we as fans support it properly. One.

Beast Mode

Will people please stop saying that there is real Hip Hop and fake Hip Hop just listen to the music you enjoy and leave the music you dislike alone I gotta say Slaughterhouse was getting kinda weak after the "Move On Remix" but after "Warriors" I think that they have been messing around. I love the whole group. So I will show my support for Royce.

thank u Fans Connected!

This is the best Fans Connected recommendation I have ever had, every song off of this album is an instant classic in my iPod.
