gn'r in their prime... almost

wow what a great album. those five songs are just amazing. this is how guns n roses got their name. a man called w. axl rose and izzy stradlin were in a band called hollywood rose. and w. axl rose was in the original lineup of L.A. guns. when he left la guns for hollywood rose he was later seen by slash and steve adler and they said to each other, if we could get that singer and that guitarist(izzy) we could have one heck of a band. stradlin and rose were not crazy about those two and declined them several times. after a while rose decided to give them a chance and he liked what he heard. the band was known for their destructiveness and that's what delayed their record deal. but when geffen signed them they had no idea what they were in for, for good and bad. but with the piercing vocals of axl, insane riffs by slash, great backup with izzy, heavy background of later picked up duff mckagan, and the loud onoxious beats of steve the band wasnt killing time at all and put out appetite and things took off from there. and that is the history of the name and coming together of the one and only GUNS N' ROSES.

at first i thought it wasnt gana be that good but after i bought the album the songs rock'd i think my top 3 would be 1.shadow of your love 2.rocker 3.killing time. this is how gnr made it big

Axl Rocks in any band

Hollywood Rose was another band that had Axl as the singer, and it totally rocks! Hasn't anybody noticed that any band fronted by Axl is going to be amazing? He's just a top-of-the-line singer and frontman, who knows what hes doing, and how to make an impact. Even today, although still frontiing GN'R, it's not the same band... but he makes it work, and it just sounds like a new band with an awesome edgy sound. Personaly, I think Axl will continue to create sounds, and stay ahead of the times, and keep on rockin' up the charts until the day he dies. ( Which i hope won't be anytime soon! )

Years before there was a Guns N' Roses there was Hollywood Rose. Formed in — where else — Hollywood, circa 1983, by recent Indiana transplants William Bailey (later to become W. Axl Rose) and Jeff Isabelle (aka Izzy Stradlin) along with Los Angeles native Chris Weber, they were briefly billed as A.X.L.
