The Sacred Language: Persia
As a student of world music, specifically that of the middle east, India and Persia, I've listened to and played with many artists from these regions. I view Mr. DeFever as on par with the best of these musicians. When I hear him play, it sound the same as the traditional players of these lands. He has truly absorbed not only the techniques but the SPIRIT of these musical traditions. I listen in awe as Reid is among 'the best of the best'.
It broke my fever- true story!
Next to India, this album this is my favorite! One of the reasons I like Persia is because of Mr.DeFever's voice, I find it haunting and comforting at the same time.
I love Branch of the Moon, Passage, and Forbidden Rhythm ....who wouldn't love a little forbidden rhythm? :)
And yes, while really sick with a seriously high fever, this was the album that finally broke my fever :)
