iTunes Review
These British grunge bandwagoneers wrote some undeniably catchy tunes back in the ‘90s and their first album since 2001’s Golden State is another successful collection of ultra-catchy hooks and powerful production. With producer Bob Rock (Metallica, Mötley Crüe) ensuring the guitars soar and the vocals rise to the occasion, The Sea of Memories hits some very high points. “All My Life” is a tune that sounds like the Bush of old. Except that’s guitarist Chris Traynor from singer Gavin Rossdale’s Institute working in place of Nigel Pulsford alongside new bassist Corey Britz. It’s essentially Rossdale’s show. It’s his distinctive growl that brings home the note-perfect chorus of “The Afterlife.” The ballad “All Night Doctors” sounds as emotively powerful as emo legends Smoking Popes. “Baby Comes Home” evokes memories of their classic “Everything Zen.” While Bush never received the critical kudos at the time, the band’s genuine pursuit of the perfect hard- rock single lends an urgency to solid album tracks such as “I Believe In You” and “The Heart of the Matter.”

BUSH IS BACK!!! AND I LOVE THIS RECORD!!! :)
BUSH is BACK...and this album is AMAZING!!! I can't even tell you how excited I am to own this.
BUSH has been my favorite band for 17 years now, and I can't wait to be rocking out to these songs, 17 years from now.
Everyone needs to buy this, play it super loud, and sing all the songs at the top of your lungs!

Should be retitled "Wanderlust-2"
Its not fair to ALL that I'm somewhat disappointed. Rossdale has a great voice, and is very clever in his writings. If your expecting him to fly off the disk, and smack you in the face with songs like "Old" or "Machinehead"....you wont need a helmet here. He has aged, gained wisdom, become a dad, and it shows in this latest work. Its been so long since a Bush effort has been made, I was really looking for a crack in the head or a smack in the sack! It never came :( The Mirror of the signs will get airplay, and will carry your interest to keep listening. As a whole, the effort is reminiscent of Roger Waters, after The Wall, and continuing on with the Wall Part-2, aka The Final Cut. For those less Melvillian, I'm explaining my title of Wanderlust-2. It does leave one wondering who needed who?.... Bush or Rossdale? I speak of only $$$$$$$
May Sixteen Stone RIP...
It's not that I expected Sea of Memories to be even in the realm of comparison to Sixteen Stone, which swept me off my feet, or Razorblade Suitcase, when "Mouth" and "Swallowed" solidified my love for this group. Even when Bush decided to step away from their signature style and put out Experimental, "Warm Machine" and "Chemicals" instilled my eternal faith and support in the band. And now a decade later we have Sea of Memories… and I still feel like Bush is on hiatus. Every track is more disappointing than the last. If this album was from any other group I wouldn't give it a second listen. But I can't bring myself to turn my back on Bush, it's like staying in a relationship even after the spark is gone… when the fiery passion has faded you have to find a new reason to stick around. Like joint taxes. And health insurance… or discounted auto insurance. Yeah this album is about as exciting as my last relationship.
