Impending Doom - The Serpent Servant

The Serpent Servant by Impending Doom... When Waters Run Deep - A short opening track that introduces you to the feel of the album, but coming in at one minute long, not much can be said. NA/10 The Serpent Servant - The title track of the album. This song delivers a great rhythm with fantastic breakdowns, not to mention a healthy dose of incredibly fast drumming and double bass. Appropriate pick for the title track as this is the best song on the album. 10/10 Anything Goes - Second personal favorite track on the album. This song delivers the best breakdown on the album with a simply addicting rhythm, backed by great, thought-provoking lyrics. 9.75/10 Storming the Gates of Hell - A repetitive rhythm follows the enitre song, and the song never really picks up steam, nor looses any towards the end where the main breakdown of the song occurs. Brook is the highlight of the song where the rhythm drops out in many places, leaving room for just him screaming. 7.75/10 Welcome to Forever - This songs boasts the most guitar work of any of the other songs, making it's prescence known, and in a good way too, followed by a great breakdown. It's quite a mesmerizing song. 9.5/10 More Than Conqerors - A fast track that has a near thrashy feel to it in many areas, solidly backed by the guitars. An almost guitar solo of sorts followed by a china-filled breakdown and quick double bass hits end the song. 9/10 Revival: America - The slowest song on the album. On the strings, only one small guitar lick is present. This song goes from slow to slower, and Brook simply screams Revival! America! Since this band stands for God, these two words actually have a powerful message concerning the US today. 9/10 In the House of Mourning - I mostly remember this song for its ridiculously fast drumming followed by an equally slow breakdown. The drummer gives a little love to his ride in this song as the guitars jam, ending out the song. 8.5/10 When I Speak - This song boasts the fastest blast beats on the album, and you wonder where the drummer could possibly aquire that kind of speed. A unique breakdown follows that have the guitars and drums in slightly different rhythms, followed by ferocious screaming in the breaks of the rhythm. More blasts ensue later in the song. 9.25/10 City of Refuge - If you had to pick a "melodic" song on this album, this would most likely be it. Guitars dominate the sound of the song, accompanied by solid, fast, drumming and lots more screaming. Repetive, none-the-less. 7.5/10 Beginnings - This song takes a different approach, starting right of the bat with a breakdown, leading in to a whole lotta' screaming. Later in the song, the guitars drop out, and the bass is the only guitar present, giving you a feel of something you haven't yet heard. Brook leaves you with the words, "This is where I begin." 9/10 Overall, I give it about a 9.25. It shouldn't be missed by any fans who enjoy death metal. There's no filler in this album, which is great, considering many death metal albums scream filler (no pun intended). Happy listening, everyone.

Deathmetal For Christ

This album is great in every way they dropped alot of the pig squeals and picked up a more medolic vocal Growl approach the breakdowns are devastating and right timing on every track. The concept of every song is great and Glorifying to Our Lord And Saviour Jesus Christ!!! Check out More Than Conquerors (bestsong)
